Hi everyone!

As president of the Nu Beta chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta, I am ecstatic to welcome you into a glimpse of our chapter at UTC! Membership in Alpha Gam begins in college, but truly is an experience that will last a lifetime!

Alpha Gamma Delta was officially established on May 30, 1904, at the home of Dr. Wellesley Perry Coddington, a professor at Syracuse University, who was instrumental in the early development of Alpha Gamma Delta. Each of the Fraternity's 11 Founders were progressive and influential women who selflessly contributed to the foundation and growth of Alpha Gamma Delta. Since the founding, collegiate chapters have been installed at 194 colleges and universities across North America and more than 183,000 women have become Alpha Gam sisters. Guided by our Purpose, Alpha Gamma Delta sisters impact our communities and contribute to the world's work.

Nu Beta Chapter was installed December 4, 2016, at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Our chapter has flourished in the past few years and the support we receive on campus has made this experience truly amazing. Compared to 2016, the chapter is almost unrecognizable.

Alpha Gamma Delta’s philanthropic focus is fighting hunger. One in eight Americans struggle with hunger. Many do not realize the extreme prominence that hunger holds all around us.  It's a cause that knows no boundaries; it affects every race, age and community. Including the communities where we are placed. Within the UTC community alone, forty-three percent of students reported that they suffered from food insecurity; their next meal’s orientation is unknown. That is why we want to be a part of the solution. Through partnering with national and local organizations, we are able to make an impact on our communities. We are proud partners of Feeding America and Meals on Wheels. We work tirelessly with both of these organizations each semester to make a difference in our community. Through these partnerships we're able to provide awareness on a national level while also partnering with local agencies where our collegiate chapters and alumnae chapters/clubs are located.

As Alpha Gam women, we value influencing our women into well rounded, strong individuals. We love each sister for who she is. We support one another through the good and bad, we cherish laughter and friendship, and we take joy in being a part of something bigger than ourselves.

Our motto, Loving, Leading, Lasting, has had such an impact on my life. College is one of the most difficult, yet rewarding times in your life. Joining Alpha Gam has brought so much more to my life than I could have ever imagined, and for that I am truly grateful. I have gained leadership skills, confidence, sisters that are with me through everything, and so much more!. I am always pushed to be the best version of myself and would not be the leader I am today without Alpha Gamma Delta. I am forever grateful for this opportunity and cannot wait to see where I am upon graduation.

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you might have about Nu Beta, recruitment, or Greek Life as a whole. We look forward to getting to know you and wish you the best of luck in the beginning of such an exciting time in your life! GO MOCS!

Loyally,
