Hi!

Alpha Gamma Delta was officially founded on May 30, 1904, at the home of Dr. Wellesley Perry Coddington, a professor at Syracuse University, who was instrumental in the early development of Alpha Gamma Delta. Each of the Fraternity's 11 Founders were progressive and influential women who selflessly contributed to the foundation and growth of Alpha Gamma Delta. Since the founding, collegiate chapters have been installed at 194 colleges and universities across North America and more than 183,000 women have become Alpha Gam sisters. Guided by our Purpose, Alpha Gamma Delta sisters impact our communities and contribute to the world's work.

Nu Beta Chapter was installed December 4, 2016, at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Our chapter has grown tremendously in the last two years and the support we receive on campus has made this experience truly amazing. Alpha Gamma Delta’s philanthropic focus is fighting hunger. One in eight Americans and one in eight Canadians struggle with hunger. It's a cause that knows no bounds. It affects every race, age and community. Including the communities where we are placed. That is why we want to be a part of the solution. Through partnering with national and local organizations, we are able to make an impact on our communities.

We are proud partners of Feeding America and Meals on Wheels. Through these partnerships we're able to provide awareness on a national level while also partnering with local agencies where our collegiate chapters and alumnae chapters/clubs are located.

As Alpha Gam women, we value making our women into well rounded, strong individuals. We love each sister for who she is. We support one another through the good and bad, we cherish laughter and friendship, and we take joy in being a part of something bigger than ourselves.

Our motto, Loving, Leading, Lasting, has had such an impact on my life. College is one of the most difficult, yet rewarding times in your life. When I came to UTC, I wasn’t sure what exactly I wanted to do or who I wanted to be. Once I was going through recruitment and saw Alpha Gam’s motto, I knew this is where I wanted and needed to be. My sisters have pushed me to become a better version of myself and to always look at the positive things in life. Alpha Gam has shaped me into the leader I am today and I could not be more grateful for this experience.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you might have about Nu Beta, recruitment, or Greek Life as a whole. We look forward to getting to know you!

Loyally,
Catelyn Millaway
