Hello everyone!

As president of the Beta Kappa Chapter of Kappa Delta at UTC, it is my honor and privilege to introduce you to Kappa Delta Sorority! Membership in Kappa Delta may begin in your college years, but is truly a membership that will have an impact on you for the rest of your life!

As Kappa Delta women, we strive to live by the values and purpose established by our founders in 1897, at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia. For over 122 years, Kappa Deltas around the country have been living out our common vision by building confidence and inspiring action in women of all ages.

We believe that it is important to use our platform to speak up for those that may not be able to speak up for themselves. This is why we find it so important to use our voices to help bring awareness to our national philanthropy, Prevent Child Abuse America, and our local philanthropy, Child Advocacy Center of Hamilton County. These organizations are very close to our hearts, and critical to aiding in the ending of child abuse and neglect. We have the honor to use our annual War of the Wings and Shamrock Flag Football Tournament to raise money to donate to these deserving organizations!

In addition to supporting PCAA and the CACHC, we also have the privilege of serving the Girl Scouts. We hold about three different events per semester where we invite local Girl Scout troops to themed learning events about health, travel, and self-awareness. One of our favorite events that we do is our annual Trunk-or Treat! Local troops will come to our house and go to the sisters’ decorated cars to get candy and play fun games. Working with the Girl Scouts is truly so rewarding because it allows us to build close relationships with the girls while also promoting confidence that will last a lifetime!

My time as a member of Kappa Delta has brought so much more to my life than I could have ever imagined. Throughout my time in KD, I have gained leadership skills, a sisterhood that constantly encourages me, and the confidence needed to help me reach my goals.

On behalf of my sisters, I am so excited to welcome you to our campus! We wish you the best of luck in the beginning of this exciting time in your life. Go Mocs!

All our love,
Chloe Spry
